Teens in court on drugs charges after girl's death

Two teenagers have appeared in court charged with drugs offences after the death of a 15-year-old girl.

Emergency services were called to Hopton, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, on Saturday at 00:30 GMT following reports the girl had become unwell.

She was taken to James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston but died a short time later.

Kian Lockett, 18, of King Street, Great Yarmouth, and Nathan Laffitte, 18, of no fixed abode, appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Wednesday charged with supplying MDMA and being concerned in the supply of MDMA.

The pair were remanded in custody and are due to appear before Norwich Crown Court on 25 February.

A post-mortem examination would take place in due course, Norfolk Police said.
