New bins, benches, trees and parking bays for city
GoogleA city centre street in Bradford will have its public spaces improved after work began.
Darley Street, North Parade and the "top of town" area will be better linked with the main traffic-free parts of the city as part of the project.
The top end of Darley Street will get new pedestrian crossings, parkings bays, benches, litter bins and paving. Trees will also be planted.
The work includes a new cycle lane and bike racks.
The scheme is being funded by Active Travel England's Active Travel Fund through the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council's executive member for regeneration, planning and transport, said: "This section of Darley Street will join up the work that we have carried out at the Top of Town around North Parade with the new traffic-free areas of the city centre.
"The improvements have been designed to complement the other upgraded areas."
