Six charged following county lines raids
Getty ImagesSix people have been charged following a series of raids in Calderdale and Bradford by West Yorkshire Police's County Lines Taskforce.
Officers searched properties on Mayfield Terrace, Mayfield Terrace South, Gibbet Street and Eldroth Road in Halifax on Thursday morning, as well as two further properties on Queens Court in Queensbury and Staybrite Avenue in Bingley.
Five men and one woman, all aged between 24 and 28, had been arrested and charged following the raids by West Yorkshire Police's Operation Phoenix County Lines Taskforce, a force spokesperson said.
They were all due to appear at Bradford Magistrates' Court on Friday, the spokesperson added.
According to West Yorkshire Police:
- Abu Bakar Chaudrey, 25, of Mayfield Terrace South, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine between 4 September 2025 and 22 January
- Balaval Ali, 26, of Mayfield Terrace, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine between 4 September and 10 December 2025
- Samran Ali, 28, of Eldroth Road, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine between 8 December 2025 and 12 February and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property
- Arbaaz Ali, 27, of Queens Court, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine between 22 January and 12 February
- Atif Hussain, 24, of Gibbet Street, was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, between 4 September and 10 December 2025
- Kiran Akhtar, 25, of Staybrite Avenue, was charged with acquiring, using or possessing criminal property between 9 October and 30 December 2025
