Video shows destruction left after hospital fire

The aftermath of the fire at Southampton General Hospital was captured on camera

New video and photographs have revealed the extent of the damage caused by a fire at Southampton General Hospital.

A major incident was declared on Sunday after the blaze broke out in the endoscopy unit at about 05:30 GMT.

University Hospital Southampton (UHS) NHS Foundation Trust said the unit, in the building's west wing, had been "completely gutted", with other areas also damaged.

Images released on Monday showed the destruction that was caused by the fire, which may have put some parts of the hospital out of action for months.
