Southampton have submitted their annual accounts, which show a pre-tax loss of £53.9m for 2024-25.
Saints finished 20th in the Premier League during the period, with just 12 points, and were relegated back to the Championship.
Their fate was confirmed with seven games left to play, which was the earliest a team has ever dropped out of the division in the league's history.
Across the year, the club's revenue increased by 86% to £158m and their wage bill also increased, by 43% to £116m, with the total wages amounting to 73% of the overall revenue.
That season their player signings came to £90m, with the likes of Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Flynn Downes joining permanently, having been on loan the previous campaign.
Some of the club's other notable additions included Aaron Ramsdale, Cameron Archer and midfielder Mateus Fernandes.
Their player sale profits came to £29m, with Carlos Alcaraz and Sekou Mara notable figures to leave the club that season.
