Baby born seriously ill after e-bike hit and run
GoogleA baby has been born in a serious condition to a woman who was involved in a hit and run crash, police have said.
An e-bike hit the pregnant pedestrian in Herbert Avenue, Poole, on Monday afternoon.
The rider and a pillion passenger left the scene, leaving the woman aged in her 30s with injuries that were not serious, Dorset Police added.
In a statement, detectives said: "Her baby, who has since been born, remains in hospital in a serious condition."
Police said the crash happened near to the junction with Manor Avenue at about 15:50 GMT.
PC Dan Blagden said: "We are carrying out a full investigation into the circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please contact us.
"I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam footage or witnessed the manner of the riding of the e-bike prior to the collision."
