Baby wallaby born at holiday retreat
Hollydale CottagesA wallaby has been born at a countryside retreat in Staffordshire.
The joey has begun to peek out of its mother's pouch at Hollydale Cottages in Leek.
Owners of the holiday retreat Jennifer and Scott Walker said discovering the joey was an unforgettable moment.
They said: "Seeing this tiny little face beginning to pop out and explore the world has been amazing."
As well as being home to a small family of wallabies, the retreat also houses a collection of animals including highland cows, alpacas, miniature ponies and donkeys.
The owners said: "People are often surprised when they discover we have wallabies here in Staffordshire.
"When we first realised there was a joey in the pouch it was such an exciting moment for us all.
"It's a reminder of how magical animals can be and we feel very lucky to share that experience with our guests."
Visitors to the retreat will able to catch a glimpse of the joey as it begins to venture outside of its mother's pouch.
