Biker dies after crash on A7 near Langholm

A man has died following a crash involving a motorbike in the south of Scotland.

Emergency services were called out to the incident at about 14:35 on Saturday on the A7 between Meikleholmside and Skippers Bridge, near Langholm.

Police said a 71-year-old man had been taken to hospital by air ambulance but had died shortly afterwards.

The road was shut for about eight hours as a result of the crash and inquiries are ongoing.
