A man has been airlifted from a small cove on the Jurassic Coast by helicopter after suffering a back injury.

Coastguards and RNLI lifeboats were called to Chapman's Pool near Worth Matravers, Dorset on Sunday shortly after 08:45 GMT.

As the sea was too rough for a lifeboat to reach the man, a paramedic was winched down before he was brought up into the aircraft and flown to the cliff top to a waiting ambulance.

The team at Kimmeridge Coastguard said it wished the man "a speedy recovery".
