Attempted murder arrest after knife attack
GoogleTwo men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man suffered a serious knife injury to his neck.
North Yorkshire Police were called to Melmerby, near Ripon, at about 23:40GMT on Thursday following reports of a disturbance outside the George and Dragon Inn.
The injured man, who is in his 40s, taken to hospital for treatment where he remains.
The force said two men, one in his 40s and one in his 50s, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
A spokesperson for the force said it was believed the men involved were known to each other.
"Police officers will remain in the village today as they carry out their investigation, please do approach them if you have any information," they added.
Anyone who was in the village late on Thursday evening and witnessed the disturbance who has not yet spoken to the police is asked to contact officers.
