Water supplies disrupted after main bursts
ReutersHomes and businesses in parts of Oxford have faced disruption to their water supplies because of a burst main.
The fault, found on Monday on the cycle path near Foxwell Drive, left low pressure or no water in the OX3 postcode area, which includes Headington and Marston.
A temporary repair on Tuesday failed to hold, causing flooding in the area, Thames Water said.
A permanent repair part was due to arrive on scene during the evening and services would be fully restored after work lasting several hours, the firm said.
Previously, it said isolating the burst had been challenging as the valves were hard to locate due to flooding and overgrown grass in the area.
Tankers were used to pump in water while the main was being fixed.
The firm apologised to customers for any disruption to supplies.
It has urged any residents who might need extra help to sign up to the company's priority services register.
Carers, friends or family can also register on behalf of someone they think could benefit from extra support.
