Tankers are continuing to pump water into the pipe network to keep taps flowing in an area of Oxfordshire while repairs continue to a water main.

The burst pipe at Sutton Courtenay on Monday meant those in the OX14 postcode area had no water or low pressure.

Thames Water said a specialist valve had now been fitted but a temporary interruption to water supplies could be expected while it was being set up.

The water firm said it was bringing in more tankers to help put water back into the network to further support supplies until the full repair - set to finish on Thursday - was complete.

It said the repair was complex and took longer than expected after newts were found at the location of the ruptured pipe.

It has thanked customers for their patience and apologised for the inconvenience.
