The Melton Theatre and College site has been put up for sale priced at £3.5m.

Located on the former SMB College campus in Asfordby Road, it was decided the theatre would be offloaded due to "inherited historic financial liabilities" following the merger with Loughborough College Group in 2025.

FHP Property Consultants, which is marketing the site, said there was a variety of options for its future use.

Theatre performances scheduled for the rest of the year are still set to go ahead, the college group said.

A spokesperson said: "We can confirm the site has now been placed on the market, and expressions of interest or enquiries are welcomed through FHP Property Consultants.

"As a college group, education remains our absolute priority, and we are pleased that a strong and sustainable performing arts provision in Melton is being secured through the development of a new cultural hub, which will ensure the long-term future of our course.

"All theatre bookings for 2026 are expected to proceed as planned."
