A Bradford haulage company has submitted plans to expand, which it said would create 20 jobs in the city.

W&J Williams Haulage Ltd/Shipley Transport Services has applied for permission to take up a vacant site on Park House Road in Low Moor.

The company, already based locally, said it planned to build a storage building and parking bays to meet its "continued growth".

The site was previously home to office and factory buildings, but in 2021 plans were approved to clear the 92,350 sq ft (8,580 sq m) area.

The application stated: "The proposed development is essential to accommodate the increasing volume of goods in transit and storage, improving operational efficiency through additional covered loading and processing areas that provide dedicated on-site trailer parking to reduce vehicle movements on the highway and improve road safety."

It said the development would lead to the "creation of approximately 20 full-time jobs to meet the operational requirements of an established and expanding local business", according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

The report added: "The applicant envisages the proposed development to generate approximately 10 two-way HGV movements at the site per day, plus a handful of trips associated with employees.

"This level of vehicle trip generation is not considered to be significant or severe, and it would have no noticeable impact on the local highway network when distributed across the site access on Park House Road."

Bradford Council is expected to decide on the plans in May.
