Man charged after woman stabbed in hand

Police confirmed the assault took place in Salisbury and the victim travelled home to Swindon before calling for help.

A man has been charged with two offences after a woman was stabbed in the hand.

Police were called to Pinehurst Road in Swindon at around 21:00 GMT on 7 February to reports of a woman suffering from knife wounds.

Michael Sheehan, 31, of Harnham Road, Salisbury, was arrested and charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, Wiltshire Police said.

He appeared before Swindon Magistrates' Court on Monday and was remanded in custody to appear at Salisbury Crown Court on 11 March.

A police spokesman confirmed the assault took place in Salisbury and the victim travelled home to Swindon before calling for help.
