A former police station has gone on the market in East Lothian for offers over £270,000.

The brick building in Dunbar, 30 miles east of Edinburgh, has a single-storey extension and two garages.

Shepherd Chartered Surveyors and BNP Paribas have been instructed by Police Scotland to market the building in the commuter town, just off the A1.

The property also has cells and a reception area, as well as a lock-up garage and outbuildings.

It is up to the buyer to obtain a change of use at the council's planning department

Hannah Barnett, of Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, said: "We anticipate that this redevelopment opportunity will generate much interest.

"Previously operating as a police station, it is the buyer's responsibility to make their own inquiries at the local planning department and apply for any change of use if appropriate."
