Fire crews return to base after roof repairs end
Desborough Fire StationFirefighters have moved back into their base after £30,000 of roof repairs were carried out.
The on-call crew from Desborough, Northamptonshire, relocated to Rothwell Fire Station on 1 October so the essential repairs could be carried out.
Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service said the building, on King Street, built in 1975, had deteriorated over "many years".
Mick Berry, area manager for response, praised residents in the two towns for their "patience and understanding".
Desborough Fire Station"As a fire service we are investing in improving our stations and making sure our crews have the best facilities in which they can work and train," he added.
"We are delighted that the work has been completed to schedule, and that the Desborough crew are now back at the station – where they will continue to respond and carry out their important community and prevention work to keep people safe."
