Man accused of woman's manslaughter and stalking

Detectives investigating the death of a woman who was found dead more than two years ago have charged a man with manslaughter, stalking and blackmail.

Jennifer Smith, 38, was found at an address in Birch Grove, Ellesmere Port, on 1 June 2023.

Peter Scargill, 48, of Cherry Road, Chester, has been charged with manslaughter, stalking involving serious alarm and distress, and blackmail, Cheshire Police said.

He is due to appear at Warrington Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
