Pedestrian in hospital after being hit by bus

Police said a cordon remained in place at the scene

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a double decker bus in Leeds city centre.

West Yorkshire Police said they were called to Vicar Lane at 05:28 GMT where the 51-year-old had been involved in the collision.

Part of the road has been cordoned off while investigation work takes place, the force added.

A spokesperson said officers were monitoring the man's condition in hospital.
