A man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after a double stabbing in a Lincolnshire village on New Year's Eve.

Lincolnshire Police said officers responded to reports of an assault at a property on Fallow Croft in Saxilby at about 01:40 GMT on 31 December.

Two people suffered serious stab wounds and were taken to hospital, the force said.

Thomas Smith, 32, of no fixed address, has been remanded in custody and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court later.

He has also been charged with aggravated vehicle taking without consent and having no car insurance or driving licence.

Anyone with dashcam or doorbell footage that might help the investigation is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police.
