Shots were fired at a house in north Belfast on Friday night.

Four shots were fired through the front window of the house in Woodvale Avenue at about 21:20 GMT.

Damage was caused but those inside at the time of the attack were not injured.

Officers have said they are working to establish a motive for the shooting, and have asked for anyone with information to contact them.

Traditional Unionist Voice councillor Ron McDowell told BBC News NI he did not know anything about the circumstances of the shooting, but he added that such attacks should be condemned by "any right-thinking individual".

"You have to condemn anyone who brings guns on to the streets," he said.

"This type of violence has no place in our community."
