Man dies and 60-year-old arrested after shooting

A 60-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was shot dead in West Yorkshire.

Police said they were called to a property on Barnsley Road in Hemsworth, shortly after 21:30 BST on Thursday.

Armed officers found the victim dead at the rear of the home. The suspect was subsequently arrested.

A crime scene has been put in place while an investigation is carried out.
