Rock band Reef and alt-metal group Lake Malice will support headliners Skindred as part of an open-air summer concert series.

Bristol Sounds runs from 22-30 June on the city's harbourside amphitheatre, with other headliners including Busted, Placebo, Annie Mac and The Skints.

The Skindred event opens up the series with a mix of emerging and established alternative rock, punk and metal acts.

Conal Dodds, Bristol Sounds organiser, said it would be "as intense as it is exhilarating".

"This eclectic-electric-rock line-up is going to make Saturday 22 June an unforgettable day and night of music, celebration and a kick-start to the ultimate summer gig series," added Mr Dodds.

Hailing from just across the water, Newport's Skindred released their latest album Smile last year, reaching number two in the album charts.

The full line-up for the opening night of Bristol Sounds also includes Kid Bookie, Kris Barras Band, Cody Frost, Petch and Bristol bands RXPTRS and Mother Vulture.
