The "infrastructure defect" is the second reported in two days on the M1

A stretch of the M1 has had traffic restricted to allow emergency pothole repairs to be carried out.

National Highways said two lanes of the northbound carriageway from junctions 28 to 29 between Chesterfield and Mansfield had been shut.

The organisation said contractors and traffic officers were "working at the scene to complete an emergency repair".

It comes one day after two lanes were also closed between junctions 27 and 28 for the same reason.
