Two lanes have been closed on a section of the M1 in Nottinghamshire to allow safety repairs to be carried out.

National Highways said the closure was in place on the northbound side between junctions 27 and 28, near Mansfield, due to a "safety critical infrastructure defect".

Contractors have been sent to the scene to complete emergency repairs, it added.

Drivers using the motorway have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys to factor in delays.
