Mason Miller died after a stabbing at a Northampton skate park

Four people arrested in connection with a double stabbing at a skate park have been released.

Mason Miller, 20, from Northampton, died following the incident at the town's Briar Hill Skate Park on Wednesday, while a 17-year-old remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Two 17-year-olds, a 16-year-old arrested on suspicion of murder and 35-year-old arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been eliminated from inquiries, Northamptonshire Police have said.

The force said the case "remains a murder investigation".

Police began a murder inquiry following Mason Miller's death

On Saturday, two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old youth arrested on suspicion of murder appeared at Northampton Magistrates' Court charged with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon "as part of the wider police investigation".

They were granted conditional bail.

Officers had been working "around the clock", carrying out house-to-house inquiries and doing high-visibility patrols, the force said.

The case "remains a murder investigation", said Det Insp Matt Bly, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit.

"We are continuing to work across various fronts to piece together what happened and to determine who is responsible and we would once again appeal to anyone with information, however small, to get in touch as soon as possible if they haven't already done so.

"The public's co-operation will be key to this, and any little detail may help us piece together what happened around the time of the attack on Mason.

"I would urge anyone with information, including CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage, to please contact us," he added.
