Person dies after being struck by train near Bridge of Allan

Rail services have been disrupted after a person died after being hit by a train near Bridge of Allan.

The emergency services were called to the incident beside the town's railway station at about 05:00, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Train services between Glasgow and Aberdeen were disrupted as a result, with the line between Stirling and Perth completely closed.

Scotrail said the line reopened with normal services back by about 10:00.
