A developer has applied for planning consent to build 420 homes in Surrey.

Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey submitted an outline application to Guildford Borough Council for the site between Poyle Road and The Street in Tongham.

The company said the scheme would provide much-needed homes in easy reach of shops, schools and other local services.

Members of the public have until 13 February to submit comments on the application to Guildford Borough Council.

The development would include two access roads, green space and a nature area, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

Final details of the properties would be subject to approval at a later stage of the planning process.
