Van missing after being set on fire in Fort William

Police have appealed for information after a van was deliberately set on fire in the Plantation area of Fort William - and then vanished.

Firefighters were called to the incident involving a white Fort Transit van at about 21:20 on Saturday.

The blaze in Kennedy Road was extinguished and no-one was injured.

Police Scotland said it had sought information about the fire, and also on where the vehicle was taken to following the incident.

A spokesperson said: "Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing for witnesses.

"Please also check any private CCTV or dashcam footage that you have to see if anything has been captured that could assist officers."
