Man dies after being hit by council road sweeper
BBCA man has died in hospital after being hit by a council road sweeper in Leicester.
Leicestershire Police said it was called to Holy Bones by East Midlands Ambulance Service just before 14:15 BST on Monday.
A man in his 80s was taken to hospital but died a few hours later, the force added.
A 63-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and remains in police custody.
Det Sgt Mike Steer said the vehicle involved was a Leicester City Council road sweeper.
"We are in contact with colleagues in the council and they are assisting us with our investigation," he added.
