Food waste collections to roll out after deadline
LDRSWeekly food waste collections are due to roll out across Bournemouth and Poole from Monday.
More than £78bn has been made available to councils in England this year, including funding for weekly food waste collections for all households, alongside £340m to support authorities with the new collections.
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council was given more than £2m as part of the government's Simpler Recycling scheme, which aims to reduce carbon emissions and cut environmental and societal impacts from waste disposal.
It is among a number of councils that missed a 31 March deadline to introduce measures, including separate weekly food waste collections.
BCP has been delivering food waste caddies to all households in Poole and eligible flats in Bournemouth, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
Residents who have not received their food caddies have been encouraged to get in touch with the council to receive their free bin.
