Runners raise more than £25k in Wolverhampton race

A race which saw runners take to the streets of Wolverhampton has raised more than £25,000.

The Wolverhampton 10k, organised by RunThrough, saw about 2,000 people race around the city on 24 March.

Proceeds will go towards the palliative care provider, Compton Care, as the official charity for the event.

Organisers confirmed on Thursday that the race will return on 23 March next year.

A number of road closures were put in place for this year's race which started and ended at Wolverhampton Wanderers' Molineux Stadium.

Matt Wood, co-founder of RunThrough, said: "The Wolverhampton 10k was a fantastic celebration of running and community spirit.

"We're grateful for the support of the local community and all the participants who made this event possible."

He said the team was "thrilled" to be bringing it back in 2025.

"With its fast and flat course and the iconic backdrop of the Molineux Stadium, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike," he said.
