Wilts in Pics: Christmas is coming and Pudsey power

Halloween and Bonfire Night are over and done with, which means it is only a matter of time before a Christmas tree appears in every town and we have festive tunes on the radio.

Santa is due to return to the Brunel Shopping Centre in Swindon on 15 November with special "quiet" sessions during the first 30 minutes on Sundays.

Outside of Christmas preparations, we have seen how Children in Need has helped a youth club in Wiltshire and Pudsey has been busy visiting schools across the county.

Unity: "Let's build bridges not walls" was the message as people came together at Swindon's Civic Offices to mark Inter Faith Week and discuss how best to break down barriers.

Royal train: Queen Camilla was presented with a crocheted poppy wreath by 10-year-old Eira Jones at Chippenham train station as part of the Great Western Railway "Poppies to Paddington" event to mark Armistice Day.

Light fantastic: Longleat's Festival of Light is under way, with characters such as Wallace and Gromit among the stars of the show.

Super staff: Wiltshire Council's Mel Jacob, far left, has praised the quick actions of Melksham Community Campus staff, who saved a man's life when he collapsed while playing pickleball at the centre in September.

Pudsey power: Pudsey has visited schools across the region this week to mark Children in Need and find out about fundraising events.

Sunny strolls: The sun has hung on amid the rainfall this week, with our Weather Watchers still managing to get some great pictures on walks.

Gold star: Chair of Swindon's domestic abuse charity, Society Without Abuse (SWA), Nicky Alberry, has been honoured with the Lansdowne Gold Star for Empowering Women and Girls at the 10th International Global IAE & EuroStar Awards in recognition of her exceptional leadership, advocacy, and commitment to ending domestic abuse and violence against women and girls.

Rare find: BBC Radio Wiltshire's Kayleigh Barker stumbled upon a rare yellow poppy at TWIGS Community Gardens in Swindon.

Blooming brilliant: Bradford-on-Avon has achieved a Gold Award at this year's South West In Bloom competition, which encourages communities to improve their local environments through horticulture, environmental responsibility and community participation.
