Police said the historic pool has attracted anti-social behaviour

Police are patrolling a popular Guernsey beachside pool after reports of anti-social behaviour over the last month.

Officers said they are monitoring La Vallette because of "recurring" problems with reports of broken bottles and damage to a bin.

The force said: "We know La Vallette is a special place that many islanders enjoy, and it's important that everyone can relax there safely."

It warned trouble-makers they could face enforcement action, and leaving glass bottles and litter behind "creates serious safety risks".

The problem to light after inspections by the Agriculture, Countryside and Land Management Services Department.

Police warned that the behaviour would result "in avoidable costs for clean-up and repairs, which ultimately affect the wider community", and staff were not on site at weekends to deal with any broken glass immediately.
