Couple hitchhike to their wedding ceremony
Hayley Kim Hall PhotographyA couple's wedding day was saved when they hitched a lift from a passing driver after being unable to get a taxi.
Chloe and George Gardner, from Hatfield Peverel in Essex, were due to marry at Brighton register office but found themselves stranded on the seafront after struggling to book transport.
They were rejected by multiple Uber drivers and failed to flag down a black cab, before they began walking along the promenade in a bid to reach the ceremony on time.
"It was truthfully a very stressful moment as at the time as we weren't sure if we were going to make it in time," Chloe said.

The couple had chosen Brighton for their legal ceremony so George's grandparents could attend, having missed the main wedding in France.
They had hoped to hire a black cab for photographs but discovered many of the vehicles nearby were not licensed taxis.
The couple then tried to book a last-minute luxury car, but were told they were fully booked.
"We pre-booked a taxi to take us to the Town Hall, but forgetting there were five of us, didn't request a larger vehicle," Chloe said.
"I told my parents to get in the taxi and we would just call an Uber as they are usually pretty quick."
When no Ubers accepted their requests, the couple said they "had no choice" but to start walking to the venue.
As they walked, several drivers beeped in support, including Reggie who was not a taxi driver.
"It was a nice car and he seemed friendly so I went up to him and desperately asked him for a lift to the Town Hall," she said.
"To my surprise, he accepted and we all got in!"
Footage of the moment was filmed by Chloe's friend Alice and later shared on TikTok and Instagram, where it was viewed thousands of times.
Chloe said: "I can look back and laugh now that we hitchhiked to our wedding!"
