A 5km (3.1m) colour run is set to return to Wolverhampton to raise money for a sight loss charity.

The Beacon Centre for the Blind began hosting the annual event in 2022, and this year hundreds of people are expected to take part in the run at East Park.

As runners make their way around the course, they are showered with vibrant, non-toxic powder at 14 different stations by volunteers.

It is set to take place on 17 May, and everyone who takes part, whether they run or walk, will be awarded a medal.

The charity, which launched in 1875, supports more than 37,000 people living with sight loss across the region, it said.

Sarah Dovey, fundraising manager at Beacon, said: "The Beacon Colour Run is one of the most joyful events of the year. Seeing hundreds of people come together, laughing, running, and getting completely covered in colour, while raising vital funds for people with sight loss is truly amazing.

"By freezing our ticket prices this year, we hope even more families, friends and colleagues will feel able to join us."
