Two charged with murder over body found in river
Cambridgeshire ConstabularyTwo men have been charged with murder after the body of a man was found in the River Nene in Peterborough.
Connor Kinlan, 32, of no fixed address, was found in the water near Town Bridge on 24 January.
A 19-year-old man from Peterborough charged with murder, possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a Class B drug appeared at Huntingdon Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
Another 19-year-old man, from Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, has been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon, and appeared at Peterborough Magistrates' Court. Both men will appear at Cambridge Crown Court on Tuesday.
An 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, both from Peterborough, were also arrested on Sunday.
The man was held on suspicion of murder while the woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in police custody in Peterborough.
Previously, a 19-year-old man and a 61-year-old man, who were arrested last week on suspicion of assisting an offender, were bailed until 29 April.
A post-mortem investigation on Friday gave a preliminary cause of death as drowning.
