Pair jailed for injuring three in drive-by shooting
West Midlands PoliceTwo men who left three women seriously injured in a drive-by shooting outside a bar have been jailed.
The shots were fired from a black Seat Ibiza in Frederick Street, Wolverhampton at around 23:00 BST on 27 September 2024.
Shaun Andrews, 24, and DeShaun White, 22, both from the city, were found guilty of three counts of attempted murder and the possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life over the shooting.
At Wolverhampton Crown Court last Thursday, Andrews, of Russell Road, was sentenced to 40 years in jail while White, of Westacre Crescent, was handed a 38-year prison term.
GoogleTwo years on, the victims continue to recover from their injuries, West Midlands Police have said.
A police investigation revealed Andrews and White left Wolverhampton along Compton Road in the moments after the shooting and then headed to Nottingham.
When the car they were in was driven back to Wolverhampton two days later, White was identified as its registered keeper and insured driver and was arrested before subsequently being charged.
Andrews had fled to Scotland but was later arrested by officers in Manchester and later charged.
Det Insp Racheal Allen said: "The three women are sadly still continuing to recover from their injuries inflicted by the violence these two men unleashed.
"Gun crime is a danger that we cannot tolerate on our streets and this sentencing sends a strong message that those who carry it out will be punished and spend many, many years behind bars for their actions."
