A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, after a drive-by shooting left three women injured.

West Midlands Police received reports of a gun being fired on Frederick Street in Wolverhampton, at around 23:00 BST on Friday.

Earlier, the force confirmed they had arrested a 21-year-old man in the Parkfield area of the city and he remained in custody while investigations continued.

Two of three women injured remain in hospital, where they are in a stable condition.

The women had been at an event at a venue on Frederick Street, a police spokesperson said.
