Castle grounds closed due to further 'debris'

The grounds of a Lincolnshire castle have been closed while staff continue to investigate what they have described as "debris".

Tattershall Castle had already been closed after the "debris" was found on 3 April.

On Wednesday, more was found in the "wider area", and the grounds were shut.

The National Trust apologised for the inconvenience and said: "The safety of our visitors, staff, volunteers and the castle heritage are our top priority."

Tattershall Castle was built in the 15th Century for Lord Ralph Cromwell, treasurer to Henry VI, as a show of wealth, position and power.
