Dr Rahmeh Aladwan is due to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday

An NHS doctor has been charged after allegedly inciting support for proscribed group Hamas.

The Metropolitan Police arrested Dr Rahmeh Aladwan at her home address in Pilning, South Gloucestershire, earlier for allegedly breaching bail conditions imposed following previous arrests.

The 31-year-old British Palestinian was taken to a central London police station where she was charged with four counts of inciting support for Hamas and two other charges. The charges date from 23 July to 31 December 2025 and relate to comments or material posted online, police said.

Aladwan was remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday, police said.

She was also charged with publishing or distributing written material, and using words that were threatening, abusive or insulting intending thereby to stir up racial hatred or having regard to all the circumstances was reckless as to whether racial hatred would be stirred up, in breach of the Public Order Act 1986.
