Stricken racing yacht towed to harbour

The trimaran is towed to St Peter Port

A racing yacht that capsized off Guernsey has been towed to St Peter Port harbour.

The 50ft (15m) trimaran Kroesio capsized early on Sunday and was washed ashore near Perelle Bay during the Transat Cafe L'Or transatlantic race from Le Havre.

Two crew on-board were airlifted to safety unharmed, said race organisers.

Guernsey Harbours said the refloating was the result of "great teamwork" with States Works and Bob Froome plant hire. The trimaran would be righted and taken back to France by its owners.
