'Wolf-type' dogs see 'remarkable progress' after rescue
Wolves of WiltshireThree "emaciated and frightened puppies" that were roaming the streets of Lancashire "are settling in so beautifully", an animal rescue centre has said.
The "wolf-type animals" - later identified as German Shepherd dogs - were walking around the Station Lane area of Preston at about 16:15 GMT on 30 October.
After being caught by police, dog charity 8 Below Husky Rescue said the trio made "remarkable progress" as staff "tirelessly worked to ensure the puppies' comfort and wellbeing".
The charity said the dogs had moved to Wiltshire to be cared for there: "While they still require significant care and attention, their progress is encouraging."
Lancashire Police"Watching them let their guard down, even just a little, absolutely melted my heart. Moments like this make everything worth it," they said.
"The puppies arrived this morning and immediately engaged in play with each other, displaying a sense of relaxation in their new home.
"They are approximately seven-to-eight months old, which means they are still in their formative years and have a lot of life experiences to learn.
"Roaming freely in Preston was not the ideal environment for them to acquire these experiences."
The dogs had now moved to Wolves of Wiltshire to continue their rehabilitation.
