Police have introduced a city centre dispersal order in Coventry following a shooting.

A man suffered gunshot injuries in an incident on Far Gosford Street in the early hours of 13 September.

A 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Wednesday has been released on police bail, said West Midlands Police.

Three other men, two aged 35 and the third 31, were previously charged with conspiracy to murder over the same incident.

The order, covering the city centre, Far Gosford Street and parts of Hillfields, will be in place from 18:00 BST on Friday until the same time on Sunday 12 October.

Powers granted under the order allow officers to direct individuals to leave the area to prevent or reduce anti-social behaviour, harassment or disorder, as well as robbery.

People who are told to leave but then return can be arrested.

The victim continued to recover from his injuries, the force said.
