Police are appealing for help to identify a man who died after being discovered near Worcester Rowing Club on Wednesday

Police have launched an appeal to help identify a man who died following a suspected medical episode in Worcestershire.

The man, described as white, about 5 ft 7in tall and believed to be in his 60s, was found by an off duty officer, on a bench on Grand Stand Road near to Worcester Rowing Club at 07:45 GMT on Wednesday.

He later died in hospital. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Det Sgt Andrew Todd described the incident as an "extremely sad set of circumstances" but said officers had failed to identify the man, who had not been carrying ID.

A West Mercia Police spokesperson said the man "was of slightly larger build with blue eyes, grey receding hair, a short to medium length grey beard and a grey/brown moustache".

They added that he did not have any significant marks, scars or tattoos and was not wearing any jewellery. He was also found with a pair of walking sticks.
