A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in Leicester city centre.

Leicestershire Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service were called to reports of a stabbing in Granby Street just after 13:00 GMT on Thursday.

The force said on Friday the victim, aged 19, was in a stable condition in hospital and was continuing to be treated.

The 16-year-old was arrested on Friday and remained in custody.

Police have urged any witnesses - including anyone who captured the incident on a mobile phone or dashcam - to come forward.
