A man in his 30s was shot in the leg and shoulder on Smiths Avenue, police said

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Huddersfield.

The incident, in Smiths Avenue, Marsh, left a man in his 30s seriously injured after he was shot in the leg and shoulder on 1 December. He has since been discharged from hospital.

On Sunday, a police spokesperson said 19-year-old Nathaniel Collins, of St Paul's Road, Bradford, was charged with one count of attempted murder and remanded into custody ahead of his appearance at Bradford Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Three other men arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on bail, the spokesperson added.
