More than 250 people waiting to see a physiotherapist got to meet healthcare professionals at a special event.

Fifty-one physiotherapy experts from the Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) were at the Lings Forum in Northampton.

Patients benefited from a one-to-one conversations, assessments and were given personalised plans.

The NHFT said its physiotherapy team was looking to hold similar events elsewhere in the county after the success of the event on 28 January.

Representatives from the Northamptonshire Sport charity, Age UK, Arthritis UK and NHS Northamptonshire Talking Therapies were also there.

Sam Nicolle, service manager for the NHFT musculoskeletal physiotherapy team, said it was a "really busy day" and said patients thought it was a "fantastic idea".

"They really appreciated the opportunity to address all their health needs at the same time," she said.

Clementina Oluwole, who said she had been living with back pain for more than five years, attended the event.

"I spoke with the physiotherapist and they advised that they would do a follow-up, so I've got another appointment, which I think will help," she said.

A spokesperson said everyone attending received their own "health passport" as a record of their appointment and next steps.
