A blast of Arctic air has caused temperatures to drop in the UK this week.

Tuesday night brought freezing temperatures, with a few places in Devon, including Exeter and Dartmoor, dropping as low as -3C.

Slight accumulations of snow were seen on Dartmoor, but for most it was a wintry mix of rain sleet and snow.

Temperatures will continue to be below average for the next few days across both counties, with the continued risk of overnight frosts and ice.

There should be much more sunshine throughout the day in between showers, while Thursday morning could bring another dusting of snow to the higher ground in Devon and Cornwall, but most are expected to experience sleet and rain.

Friday is due to be cold, dry and sunny, while the next named storm is expected to push in later in the day, bringing strong winds and heavy rain.
