Three people have been seriously injured in a street attack in Greater Manchester.

Police said officers were called at around 01:30 GMT to reports of an assault on Manchester Old Road in Middleton, Rochdale.

A man in his 20s, another in his 60s, and a woman in her 30s were taken to hospital for treatment.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault.
